# Connect WhatsApp

> Add a WhatsApp number as a channel, pairing the phone with a QR or a code.

Use a **number dedicated to support**: the channel works as a linked device, so whatever is written from the phone also shows up in the console.

**1. Create the channel**

In **Channels**, tap **Connect WhatsApp**. Give it a **Channel name** (for example, Sales) and pick the line:

* **New line**: a line under minai's subscription. Nothing else to enter.
* **My wsapi instance**: if you already have a wsapi instance, enter its **Instance id (wsapi)** and **Instance key**.

Tap **Continue**.

**2. Pair the phone**

On the phone: **WhatsApp → Linked devices → Link a device**.

* **With QR**: scan the code the console shows.
* **With code**: enter the line's number with country code, tap **Get code** and enter the code that shows up on the phone.

Once it connects, the console says **Done, it's connected!**

**3. Pick the agent and team**

On the channel's card, pick the **Answering agent** and the **Receiving team**. See [How it works](https://help.desk.min-ai.ar/en/how-it-works.md#channels).

## Channel status

| Status | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Connected** | It receives and sends messages. |
| **Needs pairing** | The QR or code step is missing: tap **Pair**. |
| **Disconnected** | The phone was unlinked (for example, from Linked devices). Tap **Pair** and repeat step 2. |

## Removing a channel

On its card, **Remove**. The number is unpaired; conversations and cases stay.
